AEW And Jon Moxley Sued By Production Crew Member Over Alleged Injuries

All Elite Wrestling and its World Champion, Jon Moxley (Jonathan Good), are facing a civil lawsuit filed by a production crew member who alleges he sustained serious injuries during a 2023 episode of AEW Dynamite.

The story was first reported by Sports Illustrated. The crew member, Christopher Dispensa, is suing for negligence, assault, and battery.

The lawsuit, filed on May 30, 2025, claims that during a cage match between Moxley and Kenny Omega on May 10, 2023, Moxley went “off-script” and violently shoved Dispensa to the ground. Dispensa alleges the unplanned fall resulted in severe neck and shoulder injuries that required him to undergo multiple surgeries.

The filing accuses Moxley of civil assault and battery. It further alleges that AEW was negligent in hiring and training Moxley, claiming he has a “history of disciplinary issues.”

However, sources within AEW have disputed that characterization of Moxley, telling The Takedown on SI that he is a respected “locker room leader” and that they were unaware of any past disciplinary problems.

Dispensa, who has not worked with AEW since December 2024, claims he reported the injury to AEW medical staff that night but was later told he would no longer receive treatment from them. The lawsuit seeks compensation exceeding $25,000 for medical expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
