AEW launching a general manager video game soon?

Talk of a possible video game for AEW goes all the way back to Cody Rhodes first mentioning it in March 2019. Top executives of the promotion such as Rhodes, Kenny Omega, and The Young Bucks are big gamers.

Omega has previously talked about a game that would be on consoles such as Xbox and Playstation. The idea is that it would play like the WWE No Mercy game and WrestleMania 2000.

However, it appears that AEW might be launching a different game as well that would be made available for mobile devices. Back on September 10th, the promotion filed to apply to trademark the terms “All Elite Wrestling: Elite General Manager” and “Elite GM” with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

Here’s the description of the filings:

“G & S: Downloadable game software; Downloadable computer game software for use on mobile and cellular phones; Downloadable electronic game software for use on handheld computers and mobile gaming devices; Downloadable video game programs; Recorded video game software.”

As of this writing, there’s still no word on when the AEW video game on Xbox and Playstation will launch, but Omega did say as recently as last month that it was in production.
