Here are some news and notes from Fyter Fest:
There was a lot of praise for “Goldenboy” Alex Mendez’s work at Fyter Fest. Mendez is an Esports Commentator and the voice on NBC’s “Titan Games.” He’s a long-time wrestling fan and was brought in for commentary as part of the partnership with the CEO gaming convention.
During the post-show media scrum, Tony Khan indicated that Fyter Fest would be a yearly event. He also said that Fight For The Fallen would be a more serious show so that should be good news for those who were not fans of the comedic stuff on the pre-show.
Alex Marvez was doing behind-the-scenes work for the company.
During the post-show media scrum, Jungle Boy was asked about having to hang on Luchasaurus for so long in the entrance tunnel. Jungle Boy said that MJF’s promo ran long and he could not fit in the tunnel on Luchasaurus’ shoulders so he had to hang off his back for a couple of minutes.
The excellent video that kicked off the Fyter Fest broadcast was produced by Kevin Sullivan (not the wrestler). Sullivan has done tons of mainstream production work and also worked for WWE, Impact Wrestling and Jeff Jarrett’s Global Force Wrestling.
All proceeds from Fight For The Fallen in Jacksonville, FL on July 13 will be donated to help victims of gun violence. Tickets for that event can be purchased by clicking here.
Here are the matches announced, so far, for Fight For The Fallen:
– Cody Rhodes and Dustin Rhodes vs. The Young Bucks
– Kenny Omega vs. Cima
– Brandi Rhodes vs. Allie
– “Hangman” Adam Page vs. Kip Sabian
