More AEW stars are expected to be exiting the company in the near future.
AEW previously would opt not to renew someone’s deal and let them sit on the sidelines for months at a time instead of releasing them. This has changed as the promotion has released Ricky Starks, Miro, Malaki Black, and Rey Fenix over the last month.
Bryan Alvarez previously noted that more talents would be let go from their deals in the coming weeks. That looks to be happening.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that there are a few names of wrestlers they were told were not going to be re-signed by the promotion when their deals expired.
Meltzer wrote, “The names we heard were all people not being used at all. Abadon, Zak Knight, and Nick Comoroto are the only names known.”
Abadon has been absent from AEW television following her match with Julia Hart. However, she remained active on ROH TV, with their most recent appearance at an ROH TV taping on February 8th. Meanwhile, Comoroto had been out of action since August 2024, recovering from hip resurfacing surgery.
