AEW is officially bringing Double or Nothing 2026 to New York City. The New York Post announced today that the signature event will be held at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens on Sunday, May 24. The event falls on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend, maintaining the pay-per-view tradition since its debut in 2019 as AEW’s inaugural show.
Louis Armstrong Stadium is situated on the same tennis complex where AEW has historically held its Grand Slam events. The venue boasts a capacity of approximately 14,000 before production and stage configurations are considered. Tickets for the event are scheduled to go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Eastern time on Monday, March 9.
To accompany the announcement, the New York Post spoke with AEW World Champion MJF about the pay-per-view coming to his home city. The Long Island native emphasized the cultural significance of the location and his personal convenience.
“When people think of America, when they don’t live in America, they think of New York. Every single famous movie is based in New York. The most famous professional wrestler who ever lived, Maxwell Jacob Friedman, is from New York. … the nice part is I don’t have to schlep as far as I usually do for the pay-per-view,” MJF stated.
MJF is currently set to defend the AEW World Title against Hangman Page at Revolution on March 15 in Los Angeles. This follows a long-standing rivalry between the two, which MJF has described as a “beautiful thing” because of their opposing wrestling views. Page earned the title shot by defeating Andrade El Idolo at Grand Slam Australia earlier this month.
Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men podcast first reported that New York City would host the 2026 event. The announcement helps solidify a packed first half of the year for the promotion as it heads toward its return to Wembley Stadium in August.
