A new report suggests that longtime AEW star Anna Jay may be approaching free agency.
Fightful Select stated on Thursday that her deal is believed to be up in “the next few months.” While there is no news on whether the two sides have been negotiating, the report stated, “it’s also believed AEW would like to keep her.”
Jay and her tag team partner Tay Melo were eliminated from the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Title Tournament on the most recent episode of Dynamite. Jay has yet to hold a championship in either AEW or Ring of Honor. Following the loss, Jay tweeted a single heart emoji on Thursday afternoon.
The 27-year-old debuted in April 2020 as part of the pandemic-era tapings in Norcross, Georgia. Since then, she has wrestled nearly 130 times in AEW and five times in Ring of Honor. She also spent a month in Japan in August 2024 working in Stardom. Jay recently sent out this crytpic tweet:
