Scorpio Sky could be approaching a crossroads in his AEW tenure, as his contract with the promotion is reportedly nearing its end.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Sky’s AEW deal is set to come due in a few months. The former two-time TNT Champion has been reported elsewhere as having a contract that runs through this fall, with tracking of wrestling contracts pointing to an October 2026 expiration.
The news is notable given how long Sky has been absent from AEW programming. Despite reportedly being healthy and cleared to compete, the veteran has gone largely unused by the company for an extended stretch, with his most recent run of televised matches coming back in 2023. A creative pitch to align him with Private Party was teased but ultimately never materialized, and he has since kept active by working on the independent scene.
One of AEW’s original signings, Sky arrived in 2019 alongside his SoCal Uncensored stablemates Frankie Kazarian and Christopher Daniels. He and Kazarian went on to become the inaugural AEW World Tag Team Champions, with Sky also making history as the first African-American champion in company history. He later broke out as a singles star, capturing the TNT Championship twice during his run.
Sky was last wrestling on Dynamite in March while he recently worked an ROH match this month.
