Saraya found herself in hot water from Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite, where she, Ruby Soho, and Toni Storm did a promo segment. Saraya said that they would show everyone that AEW is their house. Without them, there wouldn’t be a women’s division. She said the fans are “neck beard stinky twats.”
Britt Baker and Jamie Hayter came out to attack them, but the numbers game was too much, with the heels getting the upper hand. Riho ran out with Nightingale and Blue to chase off The Outcasts.
After the show, Saraya noted she was fined for saying the banned word, but didn’t regret it.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported that the money from the fine went towards the AEW Together project, and she apologized privately.
AEW emailed talent that she had been “fined for profanity and using a middle finger without informing the coach of the segment.”
The promotion also discouraged talent from flipping audience members off and body shaming the crowd.
Some people have criticized the promotion for letting wrestlers flip off fans too much during shows. This is something that World Heavyweight Champion MJF is known to do a lot.
Last August, then-AEW producer Ace Steel was fined for swearing on TV. In that instance, the money was also donated to charity.
