AEW Star Addresses Contract Status Amid WWE Interest

The Lucha Bros. (Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix) won’t be coming to WWE together right away, although one-half of the AEW tag team could be soon.

WWE has been interested in them for a while, but Fenix and Penta are still under contract AEW. There had been speculation that Fenix may stay in AEW longer than expected if AEW adds time to the deal for missed time.

A recent update from Dave Meltzer noted that Penta is going to WWE when his deal is up which is within the next two months. However, his tag team partner, Fenix, will be sticking around AEW as the promotion is tacking on injury time, which is “nearly but not quite one year.” According to the report, AEW President Tony Khan made both significant offers to stay, but they wouldn’t sign a new deal.

José Manuel Guillén interviewed Penta El Zero Miedo on the Mas Lucha YouTube channel, where he was asked about his status with All Elite Wrestling. The wrestler confirmed he’s still under contract with AEW and focused on his presence in the promotion and the company itself.

Regarding whether he would wrestle for the promotion, he said he is ready to give the same energy that he always does, but he doesn’t know what the future holds. What he does know is that his job is in the ring, and he leaves contract negotiations up to his managers and lawyers.
