AEW star Scorpio Sky, who has not been featured on television since late 2023 following a return vignette last August, has opened up about his absence on his Creating Character podcast.
“My career has sure taken a nosedive, hasn’t it?” Sky remarked with a laugh, adding, “Anyone that has followed me obviously knows that things have been a little different over the past couple of years.”
He speculated that an interview on “Insight With Chris Van Vliet,” where he intentionally tried to protect AEW’s image, may have inadvertently caused friction with someone within the company.
“I definitely went out of my way to not make the company look bad… Come to find out, someone there, still, maybe has a few issues with some of the things I may have said,” Sky revealed. This experience has seemingly led to a change in his approach: “Now I’m like, ‘Screw it, I’m going to say whatever the hell I want now.’”
Sky expressed confusion regarding his current status, “I know I’m healthy and I’ve been healthy for a long time and I’ve been wanting to compete.” He admitted uncertainty about the reasons for his absence, stating, “I don’t know if there is bad blood or not… You only have so much say.”
