Fans have picked up on one AEW star that has been absent from TV as of late and that’s Rey Fenix.
There’s a reason for it as Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that “Rey Fenix is off the PPV due to injuries. As it stands right now, there are no other details other than the injuries were believed to have been from a recent match in Mexico. It’s also unknown how long he’ll be out.
His last AEW match came a month ago on an edition of AEW Dark: Elevation when he beat Chuck Taylor.
It appears if he wasn’t injured then he would be working the Casino Battle Royale at the Double or Nothing pay-per-view event on May 30th.
Competitions announced thus far include Griff Garrison, Brian Pillman, 10, Stu Grayson, Nick Comoroto, QT Marshall, Lee Johnson, Dustin Rhodes, Anthony Bowens, Max Caster, Penta El Zero Miedo, Isiah Kassidy, Marq Quen, Matt Sydal, Christian Cage, Matt Hardy, Powerhouse Hobbs, Evil Uno, Colt Cabana, and Jungle Boy.
The winner gets a world title match. A mystery participant is also slated to work this match.
