Injuries are going to happen in wrestling, no matter the style. In AEW, the company has dealt with plenty of injured stars throughout 2024 but has started getting many of those wrestlers back.
AEW star Bandido has been sidelined as he went down with an injury while working a match that aired in June 2023 on a Rampage episode in a loss to Konosuke Takeshita in a singles match. It was a wrist injury.
At first, he was given a diagnosis of a triangular fibrocartilage complex injury. Bandido wanted to get a second opinion and did so before having the surgery the following month. Things were looking up for him as Bandido had reportedly been getting close to making an in-ring return.
However, his return was pushed back as the injury didn’t heal properly, and Bandido needed to get another surgery. The original hope was he would be back in April, but that time has come and gone with it not happening.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that “Bandido still hasn’t been cleared, but he should be soon.“
We wish him a speedy recovery.
