AEW Star Harley Cameron Leaves Twitter Amid Harassment From Fans

AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champion Harley Cameron has seemingly deactivated her account on X. The deactivation follows a wave of online harassment and criticism stemming from a spot during this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite.

On the February 25 broadcast, Cameron and her Babes of Wrath tag team partner, Willow Nightingale, defended their titles against the MegaBad team of Penelope Ford and Megan Bayne. During the match, Ford executed a moonsault from the ring to the floor, targeting Cameron and Nightingale. The champions were out of position to properly break Ford’s fall, resulting in Ford landing awkwardly on her previously injured leg.

Ford suffered a legitimate injury during the sequence. Due to her inability to continue, an audible was called in the ring. Lena Kross interfered in the bout, causing a disqualification finish that allowed Cameron and Nightingale to retain the championships. Ford suffered an ankle sprain and is expected to return to action relatively soon, avoiding a severe break.

Following the broadcast, a vocal segment of fans on social media targeted Cameron with harsh criticism, blaming her for Ford’s injury. The backlash included demands that Cameron and Nightingale be stripped of their titles and punished by the promotion. The intense wave of negative comments ultimately led Cameron to remove her profile from the platform.

In the wake of her deactivation, several fans have come to Cameron’s defense, noting the inherent risks of high-flying maneuvers in professional wrestling. Supporters pointed out that standard procedure for taking a moonsault often involves the diving wrestler landing on their feet while the catchers brace the upper body, making it a difficult spot to execute perfectly.

Cameron has not issued a public statement regarding her departure from social media or the match itself.
