AEW has a lot of talent under contract and uses them over Dynamite, Rampage, and Collision. In some instances, AEW uses them for the ROH brand. Not everyone can be used, and it’s hard to stand out among the great talent that the promotion has.
Kommander has been a solid landing for AEW. He has been with the promotion since last year after being a former one-time AAA World Cruiserweight Champion and one-time AAA World Tag Team Champion. Komander was announced as an alternate in the Gold League of the 2024 Continental Classic, replacing the injured Juice Robinson.
While it’s unfortunate that Robinson has gone down with an injury, it has left an open door for Kommander. Those in AEW have noticed the hard work that he’s been putting in.
Fightful Select reports, “Komander has been getting positive reviews in general, but especially for his first two Continental Classic matches.” There were other names considered, but it’s unclear who those names are.
