AEW has been able to sign and develop a lot of talent that has become big stars for them. They’ve also created stars who have moved on to other promotions, including WWE.
Daniel Garcia was written off television last month in an angle on Dynamite when MJF laid him out. This was moments after Garcia fell short to Will Ospreay for the AEW International Championship.
WWE was reportedly interested in Garcia in 2021, but Garcia decided to go to AEW instead. It’s unclear whether they are still interested in the young AEW star. As previously reported by Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez, those in AEW expect Garcia to remain with the promotion.
Fightful Select reports Garcia’s deal with AEW expires in October. One top name in AEW believes he is staying and speculated as recently as last week that he would re-sign with the promotion.
However, as of this writing, he has not signed a new deal. Should he not re-sign, he will see his deal expire this fall. There is interest in Daniel Garcia from WWE and in retaining him in All Elite Wrestling.
