Earlier this month it was announced by AEW wrestler Joey Janela that he was out of action with an injury. However, at the time, he didn’t say what the injury was.
His last match took place on the May 28th edition of AEW Dynamite where he lost to Adam Page. He’s been regularly wrestling on AEW Dark and Dark: Elevation.
Since being sidelined, he’s gotten into great shape. During an appearance on the Wrestling Perspective podcast, the AEW star noted that the injury is a concussion, but he hopes to be cleared soon.
“I’ll be coming back soon. I’m dealing with an injury right now, a little concussion deal. Sh** happens, everyone knows that, it’s wrestling. All sports, everyone gets concussions. I’ll be cleared from that in the coming weeks, maybe the coming weekend. I’ll be good and hopefully doing AEW stuff soon. Things were about to pick up for me right before that happened [the concussion].”
