AEW Star Is Out Of Action With Injury

Saturday’s AEW Collision episode was taped earlier in the week following Dynamite, but it was newsworthy for a few different reasons.

Authority figure Christopher Daniels stripped Jay White, Austin Gunn, and Colten Gunn of the Trios titles. This was after the group attempted to use the Freebird rule to replace White with Robinson as Champion. Also, FTR’s Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler returned to television after Harwood was on the sidelines due to injury.

Another moment saw Trent Beretta interfere in the main event. He attacked Orange Cassidy, which allowed The Kingdom to double-team Kyle O’Reilly, leading to a win. Following the bout, Cassidy grabbed a wrench and hit Trent from behind. This was after Trent turned on the Best Friends, going heel.

Chuck Taylor sided with Cassidy, but  Trent took out Taylor by smashing his leg with a wrench following their parking lot brawl. The angle is because Fightful Select reported on Saturday that Beretta has been out of action since Double or Nothing in May.

At that show, he put over Cassidy. Beretta hadn’t been cleared to compete “for quite some time.” He was slated for a push before the injury.
