A top match for the NJPW x AEW Wrestle Dynasty pay-per-view event on January 5th has been set up.
At Monday’s NJPW Power Struggle event, there was a segment where Ricochet returned to Japan to take out Zack Sabre Jr, who had just retained the IWGP Heavyweight Title over Shingo Takagi in the main event. Ricochet attacked him from behind once his music hit.
Ricochet then confronted the champion about winning the title before issuing the match challenge for the upcoming event. The AEW star was about to hit the kill shot when Shota Umino made the save.
After a brief brawl with Shota, the top champion was laid out with the death rider. This was due to Sabre agreeing to give Shtoa a title shot at a later date.
