Since January, there's been talk about certain wrestlers exiting the company when their contracts expire.
Lio Rush's deal has already expired and Peter Avalon is currently on a "per date" deal and he is no longer under a long-term contract. Marko Stunt hasn't been used on AEW television in many months and rumors about his departure have been swirling since January.
As previously noted, Stunt's deal is due to expire in May and it will not be renewed. In an update posted today by Fightful, the reason given for why Stunt's deal was not renewed is that the roster has been growing and they are trimming the roster because of budget cuts.
Fightful reports that Stunt got a call from AEW's Head of Talent Relations Christopher Daniels. The split was said to be amicable and the conversation went well.
Since Stunt's exit from AEW TV, they have dropped the Jurassic Express name they are referring to the remaining two members as simply Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus.
The last time Stunt wrestled a match on AEW television was on an episode of AEW Dark from last September. He has been wrestling on some independent shows, including GCW's Don't Tell Me What To do pay-per-view that aired last month in New Jersey.
