AEW Star Makes In-Ring Return After Being Out Of Action For Nearly Two Years

All Elite Wrestling’s The Blade has made his in-ring return, close to two years after he last stepped foot inside the squared circle. The veteran wrestler competed at the Blissmas 25 event in Buffalo last weekend, marking a significant step in his recovery process. A clip of his return has circulated on social media, showing The Blade back in action in front of a live crowd.

This was The Blade’s first match since February 2024. His last bout prior to this hiatus took place at Alpha-1’s Watch The Throne 7: The Kings Are Back event, where he defeated Kody Lane. Following that appearance, he was forced to the sidelines due to health issues that required medical intervention.

In April 2024, The Blade shared that he was dealing with a lower back injury. The severity of the issue led to him undergoing fusion back surgery that September. The procedure was necessary to address the damage and allow him to eventually resume his wrestling career.

AEW President Tony Khan played a major role in The Blade’s recovery. Khan paid for the surgery and his physical therapy, taking care of the wrestler ever since his operation. This support allowed The Blade to focus on his rehabilitation without the financial burden often associated with major medical procedures.

The Blade made a name for himself in AEW after debuting in 2019 alongside The Butcher and The Bunny. The trio became a fixture in the tag team division, known for their distinct look and physical style. His most recent match for AEW took place in January 2024, shortly before his injury issues sidelined him for the remainder of the year.
