AEW star HOOK has confirmed the real reason for his recent absence from television, revealing that he is recovering from a concussion. The former FTW Champion has not competed since an AEW Dynamite episode in April where he was seen visibly vomiting in the ring during a match.
Initial reports following the incident suggested that HOOK had not suffered a concussion. However, speaking on a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Live, HOOK refuted those claims himself.
“I’m recovering from a concussion for those who don’t know, but I’ve been out for a while and should be back soon,” HOOK said.
During his absence, his spot in his tag team with Samoa Joe and Katsuyori Shibata was filled by Powerhouse Hobbs. A brief cameo during the Anarchy in the Arena match at Double or Nothing seemed to hint at a potential storyline fracture between HOOK and his partners, but his recovery from the concussion will take priority before that can happen.
