Former multi-time AEW Women’s World Champion Hikaru Shida has provided an update on her lengthy absence from the company, confirming that ongoing visa issues are still preventing her return to the United States.
Shida has not appeared on AEW programming since November 2024. During a recent YouTube stream, Shida was asked by a fan about her potential return. She stated she wanted to come back to AEW soon. However, she explained that the visa renewal process has been taking a long time.
“I really hope to. Visa, especially nowadays, it’s getting hard,” Shida said. “AEW has so many wrestlers and the lawyer has to do so many things. I know it takes time. I hope I can go back to AEW soon. For now, I am enjoying my stay in Japan and getting more energy to wrestle in the US again. I’m looking forward to my comeback. Please wait and I’m so glad if you support me.”
