AEW star Malakai Black may be on his way out.
It wasn’t caught on camera but fans in attendance could see that after he was pinned by Sting, he walked up to the stage and blew a kiss into the crowd and he took a bow. He also was hugged by Buddy Matthews and Brody King.
Raj Giri first reported a few days ago that Black had requested his release from AEW. Giri reported, “I heard an AEW star requested their release, and follow up sources indicate it was Malakai Black. He reportedly has repeatedly shown concerns about his mental health due to personal life and demoralization due to the booking and handling of his character. (1)”
It is no secret that there has been contact made by WWE to some former NXT talent that was let go by Vince McMahon. If Black is leaving, then there is a real possibility that we’ll see him back in WWE this year.
Nothing is confirmed but to fans at the show, his kiss and bow came across like he was leaving.
