The top storyline in AEW is with The Devil character, which looks to be coming to an end, potentially as soon as tonight at the Worlds End pay-per-view event. However, one AEW name has publicly tried to downplay any speculation that they could be revealed behind the mask or affiliated with the person.
History
AEW brought it back in recent months with the Devil and mystery partners attacking people associated with AEW World Heavyweight Champion MJF, such as Jay White, The Acclaimed, and Billy Gunn, who had been either feuding or teaming with the top star.
Our own Steve Fall was on the AEW Worlds End media call this week, where he asked whether The Devil would be revealed at the event on Saturday night. AEW President Tony Khan said he thinks they’re getting closer to the Devil being revealed and that he expects “some big revelations and big moments at Worlds End.” He added that “the secrets will be revealed.”
Downplaying speculation
Wardlow, who has a history with MJF, hasn’t wrestled since the December 5th Collision, where he beat Willie Mack. As seen below, Wardlow took to his Instagram Story to rule out the speculation that it could be him. He wrote:
“Not the devil. Not a goon. On vacation, [I] will be watching Worlds End from London. So stop asking @ aew.”
