AEW Star Sidelined With Broken Ankle

AEW is dealing with a lot of injured talent right now, ranging from Jay White to Dalton Castle and now, Skye Blue.

Blue suffered an injury on AEW Collision this past Saturday night when her match against Hikaru Shida was stopped early when she could no longer continue. The injury happened when she took a high cross from Shida on the outside, which saw Shida land awkwardly on Blue’s legs. The referee checked on Blue before calling for the doctor, and the show went to a commercial. Once Collision returned from the commercial, it was announced that Shida won the bout via referee stoppage.

Blue’s partner, Kyle Fletcher, posted to social media on Sunday that Blue was in a cast. While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez confirmed she suffered a broken ankle.

Alvarez said, “Yeah, but like a minute in, Shida went for a crossbody off the middle rope to the outside. And they had a weird landing. And Sky broke her ankle. And they immediately ended the match and got her out of there. And so now Shida will be facing Britt Baker coming up on Wednesday (AEW Dynamite).”

We wish her a speedy recovery.
