Danhausen posted an image on X (see below). The image is a screenshot from the Disney animated film “Aladdin.” The specific scene depicts the character Genie being granted his freedom at the conclusion of the film. This seems to be hinting at his AEW exit happening soon and many have been speculating that he’s going to pop out of the wooden box at Elimination Chamber.
According to Fightful Select, Danhausen’s contract was originally scheduled to expire in the summer of 2025. AEW added injury time to the agreement, extending the contract into 2026. Danhausen reportedly requested that the company not pick up his option. While absent from AEW television, Danhausen continued to wrestle on the independent circuit. He competed in approximately 60 matches in 2024 for promotions such as Game Changer Wrestling (GCW) and Prestige Wrestling.
According to odds released by MyBookie, Danhausen is the betting favorite to emerge from the mystery crate at Elimination Chamber. The odds list Danhausen at -200. Other individuals listed in the betting market include Chris Jericho at -150, Bianca Belair at +250, Pat McAfee at +400, Saraya at +600, Bad Bunny at +700, Seth Rollins at +800, and Brock Lesnar at +900. WWE has not confirmed the identity of the person in the box.
The current card for WWE Elimination Chamber includes four matches. CM Punk will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Finn Balor. Becky Lynch will defend the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship against AJ Lee. The Men’s Elimination Chamber match will feature Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, LA Knight, Jey Uso, Je’Von Evans, and Trick Williams. The winner of the Men’s Elimination Chamber match will receive a match for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 42. The Women’s Elimination Chamber match will feature Tiffany Stratton, Rhea Ripley, Alexa Bliss, Raquel Rodriguez, Asuka, and Kiana James. The winner of the Women’s Elimination Chamber match will receive a match for the WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 42.
WWE Elimination Chamber is scheduled for Saturday, February 28, 2026. The event will be held at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.
