AEW star tells Impact Wrestling to free Killer Kross from his contract

All Elite Wrestling star Sammy Guevara started the #FreeKillerKross movement on Twitter and he’s not the only wrestler who has Kross’ back on this issue.

For those of you that have not followed the story, there are plenty of details in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Basically, Kross and Impact Wrestling are in a contract dispute that led to a stalemate where he is not being used on shows.

Impact reportedly offered him $40,000 per year for a few dates per month and they want him to live up to his deal. His deal allows him to work for most promotions except for AEW or WWE.

Kross has told people that he wants to get out of his Impact deal because he has family to take of and when he signed with Impact, he was led to believe that he could not get a better deal. His belief is that he could get more money outside of Impact and that would allow him to take care of his family sitation.

Mike Johnson at PWInsider noted that Kross refused to blade at Slammiversary in a First Blood Match with Eddie Edwards so the company used fake blood. Kross said he refused to blade because there was no medical personnel at ringside and there was no pre-match blood testing. He also noted that Impact has been trying to pressure AAA to take him off their New York City show at Madison Square Garden’s Hulu Theater. Kross was scheduled to be one of Cain Velasquez’ opponents on the show but the promotion recently announced Texano Jr., Taurus and Scorpion King vs. Brian Cage, Psycho Clown and Cain Velasquez in a 6-man tag team match so it looks like Impact was successful in getting Kross off the show. Impact’s claim is that they wanted him off the AAA show because of concerns that he would sue Impact.

Impact has moved Kross’ t-shirts to the clearance section of their website.

Here is the #FreeKillerKross tweet from Sammy Guevara. He is not the only one sympathetic to Kross. Many wrestlers have privately expressed their support for him.
