The strategy going into this Friday's AEW Rampage seems to be to lean heavily into the idea that Andrade El Idolo could be leaving the company for real.
As previously noted, Andrade will wrestle against Preston Vance from The Dark Order and the stipulation is that Vance must unmask if he loses and Andrade must leave AEW if he loses.
To many fans, it might seem obvious that Andrade will win the match but again, it is worth pointing out that this episode of Rampage is being promoted as the 2-year anniversary of Brodie Lee's final match so, in theory, Vance should win.
Tony Khan is reportedly not granting any releases but Andrade has expressed that he is unhappy about not being featured as much as he had expected and there have been rumors that he was one of the names that WWE reached out to. So it is possible that Khan is granting him a release as long as he does the job on Rampage. We'll see if that is what ends up happening.
Vance sent out the following tweets:
"This isn’t just for me. This is for Dark Order. This is for Brodie. This is to show the world why I’m still handpicked. See ya bitch. #AEW #DO4Life"
Next week we show the world what Friends In Dark Places is all about. If you don’t wanna be here get the fuck out. Now that’s cowboy shit. #AEW #DarkOrder #X #HandPicked #FriendsInDarkPlaces #CowboySh*t #AEWDynamite #AEWRampage
