AEW Star to Undergo Hernia Surgery

ROH/AEW will be missing out on one of its top stars for the next several weeks due to a hernia that needs to be surgically fixed.

ROH taped a round of television episodes on Sunday at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. Following the main event match, Eddie Kingson came out to do a promo where he revealed that he will be undergoing hernia surgery this Tuesday.

Kingston told the fans that he expects to return in six weeks. This comes after he previously said a few weeks ago on ROH weekly television that he would likely need to get surgery for the injury he has been dealing with since last September.

Kingston hasn’t worked a match since March 31 at the Supercard of Honor pay-per-view where he dropped a loss to ROH World Champion Claudio Castagnoli.

Last month, he was pulled from his match against Gabriel Kidd at NJPW Collision in Philadelphia. Orange Cassidy replaced him.

AEW/ROH President Tony Khan has only used Kingston in ROH in recent months following a “leaving” AEW in storyline.
