Brian Cage is about to hit the free agent market soon unless he agrees on a contract extension with AEW, as his current deal is slated to expire soon.
Cage signed with AEW in 2020 and will expire in a matter of weeks, according to Fightful Select.
His contract was set to expire last year before the promotion picked up his option year. Cage was surprised that AEW did this at the time because he didn’t expect it after not being on TV for months.
Cage is currently one-third of the ROH Six-Man Tag Team Champions with Kaun and Toa Liona.
The report added that there had been feelers within WWE that have gauged the company’s interest in bringing Cage in, but it’s unclear if there’s particular interest on either side.
