AEW to Hold Another PPV Event This Year?

AEW has slowly increased the number of pay-per-view events they hold in recent years, as last year, they introduced the Forbidden Door show with NJPW before creating the All In show at Wembley Stadium.

The promotion will also introduce a new show with WrestleDream on Sunday, October 1, in Seattle, WA, at Climate Pledge Arena. They held four PPV events for the first few years in company history – Double or Nothing, Revolution, All Out, and Full Gear.

As previously reported, AEW plans to expand to 12 PPV events a year, with a show taking place each month.

The promotion has already confirmed this year’s Full Gear show will take place on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at The Kia Forum in Los Angeles, California. No other shows have been confirmed.

Cassidy Haynes of BodySlam.net, who has broken past AEW stories, reports that AEW has been discussing holding another PPV event this year after Full Gear, with talks going as December 29th, 2023, being the potential date.

If the December 29th date stands, this would be the first-ever AEW PPV held on a Friday, going up against Rampage and WWE SmackDown. Tony Khan has held ROH shows on Friday nights in the past.
