AEW wrestler Peter Avalon announced on social media that he underwent another surgery on Tuesday, October 21. Avalon informed fans that the procedure was for his meniscus and ACL. This follows a previous rotator cuff surgery he underwent in April.
Avalon has not competed in the ring since December 2024. Despite his in-ring absence, he did make an appearance on ROH programming on HonorClub in October 2024, teaming with Preston Vance. Avalon, whose real name is Peter Hernandez, was among the first wave of talent signed by All Elite Wrestling when the company launched in 2019.
He initially debuted with a librarian gimmick alongside Leva Bates. He became known for a lengthy losing streak on AEW Dark, which led to a storyline and, eventually, the tag team The Initiative with Brandon Cutler. After feuding with Cutler to see who could get their first AEW win, Avalon eventually adopted his ‘Pretty’ Peter Avalon persona.
He later formed the faction known as The Wingmen alongside Ryan Nemeth, JD Drake, and Cezar Bononi, which was active from 2021 to 2023. Before joining AEW, Avalon made appearances for TNA under the name Norv Fernum between 2013 and 2015. He also made one appearance on WWE SmackDown Live in 2017 as Adam James.
We wish him a speedy recovery.
