AEW won’t change name of TNT Title when Dynamite moves to TBS

All Elite Wrestling announced Dynamite would move from TNT to TBS starting January 2022. When it was announced, many fans speculated on the future of the TNT Championship that is currently held by Miro.

Dave Meltzer took various fan questions regarding the move for AEW during today’s Wrestling Observer Radio episode. This is where he noted the plan is for AEW to keep the TNT Championship name instead of changing it when they move to TBS since both networks are owned by WarnerMedia.

The promotion introduced the title belt last March where they held a tournament to crown the inaugural champion. Cody Rhodes eventually won it until he dropped it to the late Brodie Lee.
