Claudio Castagnoli vs. Josh Barnett took place at the AEW WrestleDream 2023 pay-per-view event from Seattle, WA at Climate Pledge Arena.
Jon Moxley was on commentary for the bout with the two stars doing mat wrestling to start things off. Barnett was using kicks as offense in between grappling holds while Claudio sold for most of the match. Claudio avoided a move and rolled him up for the win.
Winner: Claudio Castagnoli
Post-match, Josh cut a promo about how he heard a lot about Claudio and experiencing what Claudio is all about is true. Everything he’s heard is true about him and they don’t know how great he is. He said he leaves with the highest regard for him and that this is not over. He said that he will come back for more and reclaim that time. Claudio welcomed it anytime.
