Hangman Page vs. Swerve Strickland took place at the AEW WrestleDream 2023 pay-per-view event from Seattle, WA at Climate Pledge Arena.
The fans were behind the homestate man in Swerve and booting Page. They battled to the floor where Page caught him and powerbombed him on the apron and barricade. Page hit a moonsault from the top rope to the floor. Back in the ring, Page hit a powerbomb for 2. Page slammed the hand of Swerve on the apron. There was some redness around the nose of Page. Swerve fought back and they brawled to the floor. Page with the dead eye on the floor. Swerve with a nasty lariat and Page sold his right arm. Swerve with a double foot stomp off the apron then missed a 450 splash off the top rope. Swerve with an armbar. Page with a lariat then went for dead eye. They trade roll ups and Swerve put him in an arm bar, but Page fought out. Page with Buckshot Lariat. There was outside interference with Page kicking out of a near fall. Swerve with the house call then a second one before hitting his finisher for the win.
