AEW Wrestler Defends Cody Rhodes Over Recent Comments About The Company

Cody Rhodes recently appeared on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, where he made headlines for various things he said during the interview, whether that be about his feud with The Rock or the end of his AEW run.

Rhodes helped launch AEW in 2019 alongside Tony Khan, The Young Bucks, and Kenny Omega before leaving in 2022. Rhodes said his AEW run ended in a terrible manner, but there will be books with stories from it eventually.

He said that a certain section of the AEW fan base needs the story to be told that they do not want him and that he’s fine with the role because he respects the promotion. He admitted AEW wasn’t the be-all and end-all for him and there was ‘something greater’ out there.

Rhodes also took issue with The Young Bucks’ claim in their book that he was the last of the key EVPs to physically sign with AEW, which caused him to be criticized by many fans.

AEW wrestler and co-owner of Rhodes’ wrestling training school, the Nightmare Factory, QT Marshall, defended Rhodes from criticism, as seen below:
