Josh Alexander appears to have suffered a knee injury during the AEW Collision Slam Dunk tapings in Fresno, California on Wednesday night. According to reports from those in attendance at the Save Mart Center, Alexander was helped to the back during a World Trios Championship match in which he teamed with El Clon and Konosuke Takeshita against Kevin Knight, Mike Bailey, and Mistico.
The match went ahead and resulted in a title change, with Knight, Bailey, and Mistico winning the championships. No official confirmation of the injury has been provided. Check out the spoilers here.
The timing is notable given Alexander’s upcoming schedule. He is set to appear at the Ring of Honor and Maple Leaf Pro Global Wars event in Windsor, Ontario, Canada on March 27 and 28. Alexander is the current MLP Champion, having most recently defended the title against Esfinge at Arena Mexico on February 20.
The Collision Slam Dunk episodes taped on Wednesday will air Saturday, March 21 and Sunday, March 22 on TNT. Alexander had been working as part of The Don Callis Family alongside Konosuke Takeshita and Josh Alexander on AEW programming in recent weeks.
AEW has not commented on Alexander’s condition, and no update on his status for upcoming appearances has been provided. We wish him a speedy recovery.
Hope Josh Alexander is okay. A possible knee injury on the Collision tapes.
