AEW wrestler received some backstage heat over social media conduct

AEW star Anthony Ogogo and Impact Wrestling‘s Jordynne Grace exchanged words on Twitter earlier this month. Ogogo took shots at both Grace and her husband, Jonathan Gresham. Grace ended up deleting her Twitter as a result.

Gresham would make his own statement on the situation and noted that this wasn’t a an angle.

No it's not an angle. It is not a gimmick. We are not working on this together. It is simply someone going into business for themselves. And legit taking shots at myself and my wife online. But please continue to support that kind of behavior as its seems to entertain you.

Fightful Select reports that Ogogo’s comments weren’t looked upon favorably by some AEW wrestlers specially since Grace and Gresham weren’t part of an angle with Ogogo.

One wrestler stated they don’t believe Ogogo was genuine in the comments, and believe he was trying to work an angle with Gresham, who is set to become a free agent from ROH starting at the start of 2022. This source stated that once it was clear it wasn’t a work, Ogogo was too far in to take his foot off the gas pedal.

It’s unclear whether AEW management spoke with Ogogo, but the heat wasn’t said to be substantial. Gresham is well respected across wrestling and the feeling among wrestlers is he should’ve been given a heads up about Ogogo’s intentions. While some wrestlers don’t believe this is anything that can’t be fixed, most people who know Gresham assume he’ll just handle it interpersonally.
