AEW wrestler recently underwent surgery

Fans may have noticed that The Acclaimed has disappeared from AEW programming and not been featured. The reason for that is due to Anthony Bowens being sidelined with an injury.

Pwinsider.com reported today that Bowens had to get surgery and recently underwent the knife to fix a knee injury. The report states that the hope is he’ll be back in about 6-8 weeks.

The Acclaimed got their big break in AEW after working several matches on the Dark program that airs every Tuesday on YouTube. Their first match came against All Elite Wrestling Chaos Project (Luther & Serpentico) on the September 25, 2020 edition.

In their Dynamite debut, they beat SCU (Christopher Daniels & Frankie Kazarian) on December 16th and even challenged The Young Bucks for the AEW Tag Team Titles the following week, but came up short.

Their last match came on the February 4th edition of Dynamite when they lost to Chris Jericho and MJF.
