According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the upcoming AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door event in London, England, already shows the event will be one of AEW’s biggest money makers thus far.
Reporting on the initial pre-sale ticket figures for the cross-promotional show, he wrote, “The advance for Forbidden Door on 8/24 in London at the O2 Arena for the pre-sale topped $1 million.”
The event is still projected to be one of AEW’s most successful live gates to date. Meltzer added, “But it’ll likely end up as the third biggest gate in AEW history, trailing the two Wembley Stadium shows [All In 2023 & 2024], unless All In Texas starts moving more tickets.”
It should be noted that ticket prices are high for the show, helping out the gate. This is the latest trend in the right direction for AEW’s growing ticket sales uptick.
