AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door Results: Britt Baker Returns, Mercedes Mone Wins NJPW Strong Women’s Title

AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Mone vs. NJPW Strong Women’s Champion Stephanie Vaquer in a title-for-title bout took place at the AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door 2024 pay-per-view event on Sunday night from the UBS Arena in Elmont, NY. 

Vaquer with a headbutt to start things off. Mone with a hurricanrana off the apron. Mone with a double knee strike back in the ring for 2. Stephanie slammed Mone’s face into the mat several times. Mone fought back before they hit a double clothesline. Mone with the crossface but Vaquer got out of it and Mone rained down elbow strikes. Vaquer with a gut buster. Mone with two back stabbers. Vaquer knocked her off the top rope then hit a dragon screw and double knee strike in the corner. Mone had her in the crossface while the fans were chanting F**k the Celtrics and Red Sox while booing Mone, who is from Boston. Mone with the Money Maker and crossface for the win.
