AEW’s brand split plans for top stars on Dynamite and Collision

AEW’s new Saturday night weekly show, Collision, is just weeks away from premiering, as it will air on TNT starting June 17th, 2023.

The show will be built around the returning CM Punk while also splitting up the roster as a way to keep him separated from those who have issues with him and vice versa coming out of the All Out incidents.

The brand split has been speculated about, but it remains unclear how far the promotion will go with it.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported on the plans for some top stars in the promotion that will be either on Dynamite or Collison. Punk and FTR will be used on Collision, while The Elite and others will stay on Dynamite.

Meltzer wrote, “If the idea is a talent split, with one group working Wednesday and another working Saturday, because Rampage is likely to be taped on Wednesday, that would mean it would have the Wednesday night crew predominately. The Saturday crew will be headed by Punk and FTR, and the Wednesday crew by The Elite and BCC.”

The premiere episode of AEW Collision is expected to feature another ‘major talent debut or return.’ For more on that, click here.
