AEW’s Bryan Danielson Hopes Stem Cell Therapy Will Help Him Avoid Neck Surgery

Bryan Danielson’s wrestling career hangs in the balance as he confronts a significant neck injury. The former AEW World Champion recently revealed on the “Nikki & Brie” podcast that his future in the ring remains uncertain, with the severity of his neck condition dictating his next steps.

Wrestling Observer Newsletter’s Dave Meltzer reported that Danielson is exploring stem cell treatment in hopes of avoiding surgery. Should this prove unsuccessful, the veteran wrestler faces a potentially lengthy recovery period. Neck surgeries of this nature can sideline athletes for a year or more, depending on the extent of the damage and the complexity of the procedure.

Despite the looming uncertainty, Danielson’s passion for professional wrestling remains undiminished. He confessed to still waking up in the middle of the night with fresh ideas for matches and storylines, a testament to his enduring dedication to the art form.

For those of you wondering why Danielson never outright said that he was retiring forever, it’s because he does have plans to wrestle occasionally. Obviously, the issues with his neck will dictate what he can and can’t do in the ring, if he does wrestle again.
