AEW’s CJ Perry explains how she got an infected finger that led to surgery

CJ Perry has opened up on an infection in her finger that caused her to get surgery this week.

Her journey

Perry, who was let go by WWE in June 2021 alongside several other stars, had previously stated that she would ‘absolutely love‘ to debut for AEW, if the right story came about, and that story is now playing out.

Perry made her AEW debut following the Miro vs. Powerhouse Hobbs match at the AEW All Out pay-per-view event from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. She has since been paired with Andrade on television.

Surgery

The AEW manager missed last week’s edition of Collision due to an infection in her finger. On Tuesday, she ended up undergoing surgery.

Perry posted an update via Instagram where she wrote the following in the caption:

“I have been in the hospital since Saturday fighting a fatal infection that came from getting a small splinter backstage at work this past Wednesday. Please keep me in your prayers. And everyone really take care of any cuts you get. As small as a splinter can turn into a deadly infection. Love all of you guys and thank you to everyone who has reached out. ❤️❤️❤️”
