AEW’s Original Plans For Hologram Before Injury

AEW’s rising star, the masked luchador Hologram, was on the verge of a major push before a serious knee injury brought his momentum to a screeching halt. According to a new report from Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the company had significant plans for Hologram that were set to unfold in the coming weeks, including the end of his undefeated streak and the beginning of a feud with his Clone. The injury, which will keep him out of action for the remainder of 2025, has forced a change in creative plans.

The first step in this planned push was to be a championship match on the sixth-anniversary episode of AEW Dynamite against TNT Champ Kyle Fletcher. Following that title match, the plan was for Hologram to transition into a program with Clon. “The plan was to end his winning streak and start a feud with Clon, his favorite career opponent,” Meltzer wrote. “I don’t know what this means for Clon, who did appear on the shows as part of the Don Callis Family.”

The injury and the change of plans were addressed on the most recent episode of AEW Collision. At the start of the show, a storyline attack was used to write Hologram off television, with TNT Champion Kyle Fletcher standing over the fallen luchador. It was later announced that Orange Cassidy would be taking Hologram’s place in the TNT Championship match on Dynamite. This is the second time in two years that Hologram has been sidelined with a major injury to the same knee.

Before signing with AEW and donning the Hologram mask, the 26-year-old high-flyer was known internationally as Aramis, a standout performer on the Mexican independent circuit. Since his return from a previous ankle injury in February 2025, he had been on an undefeated streak in both singles and tag team competition as a member of The Conglomeration stable. He had also been making waves outside of AEW, competing in CMLL.
