When CM Punk made his debut in AEW, many fans began to ask if AJ Mendez (former WWE star AJ Lee) would be making her in-ring return as well. Mendez hasn't wrestled since 2015 and she retired from the ring due to neck issues.

Rumors about Mendez returning continued to pick up after Dr. Britt Baker said recently that she would love to see her in a wrestling ring again in 2021. However, Punk shot down those rumors and said that she won't wrestle because of her neck.

During an interview with the New York Post, Punk said, "I just want to say, no." He added, "Just because [of] her neck. The reason she stopped wrestling is because of her neck. She’s got a bad neck, you know. I wouldn’t want her to jeopardize [her] health and neither would she, so we’ll put an end to that rumor right now."

During the same interview, Punk said that he would love to see Bryan Danielson (former WWE star Daniel Bryan) back in the ring.

“That’s somebody that I look at and I go, man wrestling him was always fun,” Punk said. “It was never a headache and God I would like to do that again. I would like to do that again soon. It’s a big deal."

Danielson has been heavily rumored to be debuting in AEW soon. Click here for spoiler news on when he's expected to make his debut for the company.
