As expected, All Elite Wrestling has filed for the trademark rights of their new show.
The promotion filed for the term “AEW Rampage” on May 17th with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
This is the name of their new one-hour program that will premiere on TNT on August 13th. Here is the description:
“G & S: Educational and entertainment services, namely, a continuing program about wrestling accessible by radio, television, satellite, audio, video and computer networks; Entertainment services in the nature of development, creation, production, distribution, and post-production of wrestling programs and events; Entertainment services in the nature of live wrestling performances; Entertainment services in the nature of production of wrestling programs and events; Entertainment services, namely, production and distribution of ongoing television programs in the field of wrestling; Entertainment services, namely, providing ongoing webisodes featuring wrestling via a global computer network; Entertainment services, namely, an ongoing multimedia program featuring wrestling distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; Entertainment services, namely, an ongoing series featuring wrestling provided through a global computer network.”
When AEW reached an extension with Turner back in January 2020, part of the deal was for a new program as AEW President Tony Khan didn’t want to make Dynamite a three-hour show.
As noted, Dynamite will move from TNT to TBS starting in 2022. Also, Rampage will move to the station at the same time.
