Andrade El Idolo Pushes for AEW Collision to Have Separate Championships

Andrade El Idolo is returning from being sidelined since last year with a torn pec. Where he will be used on the AEW Collision brand going forward as the promotion is expected to have a brand split for Collision and Dynamite.

To promote Collision’s June 17 premiere episode, Andrade appeared on the Please Steal Our Ideas podcast to discuss various topics, including his belief there should be separate titles for Collision and Dynamite. Here are the highlights:

What fans can expect from Collision:

“Expect amazing talent. A couple of names CM Punk, FTR, House of Black. What’s interesting is Andrade vs. CM Punk, Andrade vs. FTR, Andrade vs. House of Black. I can’t wait and people can’t wait for this Saturday in Chicago.”

His return from injury:

“I tore my pec back in September in six-man tag match against Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks. I tore my pec…this is my first injury, almost 20 years in this business. Yeah, this was my first one.”

Having separate rosters:

“I don’t know yet, but I hope separate. I hope [AEW] make a new title. Maybe separate the brands like it’s another company. I hope that Dynamite, the roster, and the talent, Collision, this new brand for AEW, I wish separate. I don’t know yet.”

Collision being a new start for him:

“Yes, new beginning. New start. I come back as a babyface or a heel. I love heel, I feel it. New fresh for everybody.”

His hope for new titles to be created:

“I wish. I hope so, too because this is a new brand. We need new goals. If we have different titles, it’s good because you can compete for the title.”
