Backstage News On Bryan Danielson’s In-Ring Future

New reports have provided an update on the status of Bryan Danielson, whose in-ring future has been uncertain since his last full-time match in 2024. While Danielson is still not medically cleared for a full-time return, AEW reportedly has creative plans in place for whenever that day comes.

Danielson has been sidelined with neck issues, but has continued to serve as a creative consultant for the company. According to Fightful Select, AEW has been setting up story elements for his eventual return, such as having his Blackpool Combat Club protégé, Wheeler YUTA, adopt some of his moves.

The company was also careful to only ever bill his last match as the end of his “full-time” career, knowingly leaving the door open for a potential comeback.

That comeback was teased recently at the ROH Global Wars taping in Mexico City. After the show, Danielson hit the ring to make the save for his idol, Blue Panther, and got physical by delivering his signature Busaiku Knee.
