After a hiatus to film his role in the upcoming movie Violent Night 2, it appears MJF is nearing his return to AEW According to a new report from Fightful Select, MJF was originally expected to return in the weeks following the initial report in November.
While that timeline has shifted, new details have emerged regarding his potential involvement in the company’s year-end plans. WrestleVotes confirmed on WrestleVotes Live on Fightful Select that as of Thanksgiving week, MJF was factored into the creative plans for AEW Worlds End.
While the specific extent of his role is not yet known, there have been working plans for him to be involved in the pay-per-view event. MJF has been absent from AEW television since All Out on September 20, 2025, where he lost to Mark Briscoe in a brutal Tables ‘n’ Tacks match.
Following that loss, he took time off to film Violent Night 2, a sequel to the 2022 action-comedy starring David Harbour. Filming for the movie took place in Winnipeg and reportedly wrapped in October 2025.
AEW Worlds End is scheduled to take place on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at the NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.
